Memorial services for Edgar Dale "Eddie" Smith will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home with Terry Burch officiating. Eddie passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 61.
Edgar Dale Smith was born November 19, 1952 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to James Edgar and Mary Marie (Ellis) Smith. He married Wylene Napier on September 7, 2001. Eddie lived in the Hugo area all of his life. He worked as a backhoe operator for many years, and he was very skilled at what he did. He was employed by Choctaw Nation OEH for 12 years, and he and his wife also owned and operated B&E Backhoe Service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and being "Paw-Paw" to Blane, Easton, Talon, & Ace.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sons: "Little Eddie" Smith and Jason Smith.
Eddie is survived by his wife: Wylene; one brother: Michael and wife, Ladonna, of Hugo, OK; one sister: Linda Smith of Hugo, OK; stepchildren: Todd, Jason, Paige, and Matt Merida; his grandchildren; and his nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
