Funeral services Danny Wayne Smith will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hugo First Baptist Church with Rev. Doug McClure officiating.

Danny Passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 38. Danny Wayne Smith was born January 20, 1972, in Grand Prarie, Texas, the son of Ken and Pat (Lindsey) Smith.

He moved to this community 15 years ago. Danny worked for the Hugo FD as an EMT for 3 years, house parent at Goodland for two years, welded for Choctaw Welding Co. and Paris Welding Co. Danny also drove a truck for Covington, Choctaw Carriers, and Darrell Thomason. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hugo and had aspirations to do missionary work. Danny enjoyed hunting, especially coon hunting, fishing, and riding horses. He liked mechanic and carpentry work. Water sports was something else he enjoyed, Danny was a wake board and ski instructor at Roebuck Lake. Another enjoyment was riding motorcycles and he encouraged his boys in motorcycling.

He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Clifton T. Smith and Richard Mills.

Danny is survived by his parents; two sons, Joshua Clifton Smith of Durant, OK, David Alan Smith of the home; one brother, Michael Smith and wife Mary; one nephew, Grayden Smith; one niece, Abbey Smith all of Arlington, TX; grandparents, James & Betty Lindsey of Mansfield, TX; two grandmothers, Nora K. Smith of Anna, TX, Iva Mills of Arlington, TX.

The family will receive friends Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK. The family requests that memorial contributions made be made to the First Baptist Church Danny Smith Mission Fund.
