Dorothy H. Smith

Dec. 1, 1924 ~ April 6, 2003

DUMAS - Dorothy H. Smith, 78, died Sunday, April 6, 2003.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Dumas with the Rev. John Wagoner, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Smith was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Rush Springs, Okla. She was a Dumas resident for 42 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dumas and retired as a financial assistant of North Plains Savings and Loan Association. She was a past worthy matron of Eastern Star Chapter No. 653.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Todd; a brother, Bob Shore; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Granville; a daughter, Pam Baker and husband, Don, of Dumas; a son, Bruce Smith and wife, Linda, of Dumas; four sisters, Elsie Taylor Nielson and Lucy Gerhardt, both of Camarillo, Calif., Louise Crabb of Ventura, Calif., and Georgia Watkins of Lovington, N.M.; a brother, Bill Shore of Hereford; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at 120 Plum in Dumas.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029; or to the American Cancer Society, NCICFUL, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
