Dorothy Ann (Johnson) Smith
June 12, 1957 ~ September 28, 2016

Dorothy Ann (Johnson) Smith, 59 year old resident of Woodward, OK, passed from this life on September 28, 2016 in Woodward. Dorothy was born to Edzel and LaVerna (Rollins) Johnson on June 12, 1957 in Ponca City, OK. She grew up in Ponca City and attended Ponca City Schools graduating with the class of 1975. Dorothy then attended Southwestern Oklahoma University for two years and then went on to get her L.P.N. license from the High Plains Technology Center in Woodward, OK.

On August 31, 1981 Dorothy married Robert Smith in Del City, OK at the Freewill Baptist Church. To this union, one son was born Steven. She also welcomed two more sons to the family Kenneth and Robert. Dorothy and Robert resided in Vici, OK for two years after marriage and then moved to Woodward in 1983, where they have resided since.

Dorothy worked at the Woodward Hospital as an L.P.N. and Respiratory Technician. Dorothy had many hobbies but among her favorite was to play the trumpet. She also loved to teach people how to play the trumpet. Dorothy favorite musician was Louis Armstrong and was a great inspiration in her trumpet playing. Dorothy was also a member of VFW Auxiliary in Ponca City where she played trumpet for their many functions. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Edzel and LaVerna Johnson.

She is survived by her husband of the home Robert A. Smith; three sons Steven Micheal Smith and wife Brooke of Woodward, OK, Kenneth Malcom Smith and wife Tamatha of Noble, OK, Robert Alan Smith II and wife Heather of Norman, OK; six grandchildren Madeline Smith, Ellie Smith, Chloe Smith all of Noble, OK, Kayla Smith, Olivia Smith, Haley Smith all of Norman, OK; two brothers Richard Johnson and wife Kelly of Arkansas City, KS, and Jack Johnson and wife Dale of Pawhuska, OK; two aunts, one uncle, nieces, nephew and a host of extended family and friends.
