Corrina G. Smith, Age 71 of Edmond, OK went to be with our Lord Jehovah on November 18, 2020. She passed away peacefully with family by her side in her home. She was born on April 24, 1949 in Las Vegas, NM, to Conrado Hayes and Maria Seferina Martinez.
She is survived by her husband Rex Smith, daughter Brenda Hayes, son David Smith and wife Lisa, son Darrell Smith and wife Elizabeth and step-son Jeff Smith and wife Annette, all of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Jessica Conner, Daniel Conner, Logan Smith, Allyson Smith and Nicole Smith and great grandson Tyson Conner; sister Priscilla Hayes of Rio Rancho, NM, brother Toney Martinez of Union, MS, brother Chris Martinez of Edmond, OK and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Martinez and sister Patricia Martinez.
Corrina married Rex Smith on December 17, 1971 and they spent almost 49 wonderful years together by each other’s side. She grew up in Las Vegas, NM, attended Draughon’s Business School and worked various jobs throughout her life, but her passion was for her children and taking care of others as well as her community. She was an avid Christian and enjoyed studying the Bible. She loved the outdoors and working in the garden, especially canning vegetables harvested by her and Rex. She took great joy in collecting knick-knacks and various figurines that caught her fancy. She loved various styles of mid-century music, most of all Elvis songs and old western movies or TV shows were always on the TV in the background. She loved her family and friends and every person she met. She was truly a genuine person. She will be dearly missed, but we are grateful we will be reunited with her one day.
