Bobby Joe Smith

Bobby Joe Smith
February 21, 1983 ~ October 27, 2020 (age 37)

Bobby Joe Smith died October 27, 2020 in Lexington, Oklahoma at the age of 37 years 8 months 6 days. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Bobby was born February 21, 1983 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Robert and Gina (Ross) Smith. He was raised in Wanette, Oklahoma, graduating in 2001. Bobby had a contagious laugh and was always doing something ornery to make everyone smile. He was extremely athletic and enjoyed playing basketball and baseball. Everyone that knew Bobby has their own story of him. He was a father, a son, a true friend, a helper, and a man who loved fast cars and freedom. No matter the story, all would agree, Bobby loved fishing. He didn’t care what the weather was like, if it was an option, you would find him on a riverbank somewhere waiting on the fish to bite. Bobby also enjoyed sparing roosters. It was something he and his dad did to spend time together, and Bobby carried on the tradition. He never met a stranger and had friends from all walks of life. Above all, Bobby loved his family. Nothing in the world made him happier than spending time with the love of his life, Cherish, and his 3 beautiful children. Bobby loved watching Aleah play sports, graduate school and grow into the amazing and beautiful woman she is today. He loved to take his Paige-e-poo swimming and riding horses. They also had a nightly routine of making Daddy’s special chocolate milk before bed. Bobby loved letting Braydon sit on his lap pretending to drive, and teaching him how to ride a bike, and taking them all fishing. He loved to snuggle with his family. It didn’t matter what they were doing, if they were doing it together, everyone was happy.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Robert Dewayne Smith; his grandfathers, Jack Smith and Jr. James Ross; his granddaughter, Adalyn Fay Oates. He is survived by his mother, Gina Ross of Lone Grove; his love, Cherish Schramm of the home; his daughters, Aleah Smith of Wanette and Paige Smith of Lexington; his son, Braydon Smith of Lexington; his grandma, Virginia Ross of Lexington; his uncles, David Ross and Jimmy Ross, both of Lexington; his aunts, Audrey Durkee of Waynoka and Teresa Griffin of Pauls Valley; and numerous other relatives and friends.
