Billy Lou (Pate) Smith
April 24, 1926 ~ December 30, 2019

Billy Lou Pate Smith, 93, of Ponca City, left this life on December 30, 2019. Private family services will take place at a later date.

Billy was born on April 24, 1926, in Kaw City, OK, to Ernest and Nadine Akin Pate. She graduated from Cedar Vale High School in 1944 and married Rodney Smith in Cedar Vale, KS on June 17, 1945. They were married for 47 years.

Billy was a homemaker and later worked at Conoco. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ.

Billy is survived by her daughter, Carol Iraggi and her husband, Jim, of Ponca City; sister, Pat Molder of Benbrook, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Smith of Loveland, CO; grandchildren, Vince and Traci Iraggi, Cynthia and Wray Delno, Ezra Smith, Elisa Smith, Jacqueline Smith, Deron and Kari Smith, and Brandon Smith. She has 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney, sons, Roger and Craig, and granddaughter, Angela.

The family appreciates the care given to Billy over the past six months by the staff of Ponca City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and for the comfort and care given by Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.

Billy will be in our hearts forever, a true example of strength, hope and love.
