Memorial services for Bill Ray Smith, 85, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, Rev. Travis Muse will officiate, assisted by Rev. Earl Hood.
Mr. Smith passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at an Ada assisted living center. He was born February 6, 1930 in Russell, OK to Corbett Landis and Willie Clayton Smith. He and his family moved to Ada and he graduated from Ada High School in 1948.
He married the love of his life, Willena Skaggs in 1950. Mr. Smith retired from Dillon's Department Store in 1990, having worked there for 40 years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 72 years and had served in the U. S. Army and Army Reserves for 7 years.
Mr. Smith loved traveling the United States on summer vacations, playing his guitar in the Smith Family Band and riding motorcyles with friends.
Survivors include his wife, Willena Smith, of the home; a daughter, Jan Smith Kirkes and her husband Gus of Norman; a sister, Ruth Timmons of Yukon; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Smith of Tulsa; and 13 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbett and Willie Smith; three brothers, Corbett Lee Smith, Carl Gene Smith and Jon Dwight Smith.
