Mr. David Russell Simon, 62, Forrest City, Ark.,died Friday, June 10, 2016, at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis. His death came sudden and unexpected.
Mr. Simon was born Feb. 22, 1954, in Oklahoma City and was the son of Dr. William Hale Simon and Mary Louise Elmore Simon.
He was the retired owner-operator of Sonic Drive Inn after thirty-one years.
He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, National Wildlife Turkey Federation, and was a Methodist.
Mr. Simon married Nancy Sue Price in 1976, and she survives him along with three sons, Russell Simon, and wife, Erin, of Wynne, Ark.; Parker Simon, and wife, Kindle, of Rogers, Ark.; and Adam Simon, and wife, Jerra Kaye, of Lowell, Ark.; one daughter, Holly Bassham, and husband, Chris, of Wynne, Ark.; his father, Dr. William Hale Simon, and wife, Carolyn, of Enid; two brothers, Bill Simon of Alva; Scott Simon, and wife, Tabitha, of Enid; two sisters, Patty Alder, and husband, David, of Edmond; and Mary Lou Barton, and husband, Brad, of Tulsa; and eight grandchildren who knew him as "Big Daddy," Carson, Cooper, Ella, Walker, Hayden, Emery, Gunner, and Adeline. His mother, Mary Louise Elmore Simon; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Elmore, and Mr. and Mrs. William Simon, all preceded him in death.
