Richard Aubrey Silvey was born to Richard and Peggy Silvey on April 4, 1957. Throughout Richard’s life he loved playing baseball. He graduated from Bossier High School in Louisiana and moved to Edmond in 1978 to attend The School of Ministry. Richard accepted Jesus in 1976. He served and loved the Lord until his last breath. Richard was a hard worker and worked most of his life as a roofer. He was a man of his word, honest, and full of integrity. He truly loved his family and friends.
Richard married the love of his life on March 23, 1984, Terri Shaha. They were married for 37 years and had 3 beautiful kids. Growing up, the family made many trips to Louisiana and Colorado to visit their families. They also went on numerous camping trips with friends. Every OU football season, the Silvey family would watch the games with friends and their families.
Richard was an avid fisherman always searching for the largest bass. In 2002 he caught a 9 ¾ lb. bass and had it mounted. Later, he caught a 10lb.13 oz bass then 1013 became his lucky number. Above all, Richard loved spending time with his 3 grandkids, he always had the biggest smile on his face when he was with them.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Peggy. He is survived by his wife Terri; his 3 children Aubrey and husband Robby, Lauren and husband Ryan, and John-Michael; his 3 grandkids Emma, Michael, and Parker; his 3 sisters Audrey, Debbie, and Allison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
