Dee Wayne Sigler, born February 22, 1952 in Springfield, MO to Wayne and Bonnie Sigler, departed this life on Saturday, April 09, 2016, at the age of 64, after battling brain cancer.
Dee was a grocery man for most of his life, starting his career at the age of thirteen in Newkirk, OK. He was a common face at Wright’s IGA, in Norman, OK for thirteen years, and later ran a successful Little Debbie distributorship for nearly fifteen years in the Oklahoma City area.
In his younger years, Dee loved to hunt and fish with his father and brother; then later in life, enjoyed taking his family fishing. He was very involved in his children’s lives: serving as a board member for Boy Scout Troop 7, volunteering for the Girl Scouts, attending orchestra concerts, and going on school trips.
Dee always enjoyed hosting friends and family for cook-outs and food. He enjoyed spending time outdoors on his family’s farm, hiking in the Ozarks, bird watching, and like his mother and father, Dee enjoyed tending his garden. In his recent years he enjoyed music concerts with friends and family.
Dee leaves behind: son Robert Sigler and husband Michael Handelman of Atlanta, GA; daughter Rachael and husband Bob Fritchie of Norman, OK; mother Bonnie Sigler of Ponca City, OK; brother Mark and wife Susan Sigler of Ponca City, OK; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Dee is preceded in death by his father Wayne Sigler of Willow Springs, MO.
A Memorial Service will be held 9:00AM Saturday April 16, 2016 at Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to: Wounded Warrior Project and/or The Salvation Army.
