John Harmon Shufeldt

September 1, 1879 ~ October 31, 1918

John Harmon Shufeldt, eldest son of George E. and Hettie A. Shufeldt who for the last ten months had been in the employment of the goverment at the US Navy shipbuilding yards in Mare Island, California, sucumbed to a relapse of influenza in the government hospital at Vallejo, California, October 31, 1918.

John Harmon Shufeldt was born September 1, 1879 in Holt County, Missouri.

He leaves a mother, father, sister, two brothers, a wife and four children to mourn his untimely death.

He was a kind-hearted, industrious son, father and husband, and will be remembered by all who knew him for his honesty, integrity and industry, for his gentle, loving and forgiving nature which is deeply imprinted on the minds of all who knew him.

His remains were laid at rest November 6, 1918 at Vallejo, California.
