Mark Alan Shropshire

Mark Alan Shropshire
Mar 18, 1960 ~ Jul 19, 2014

Mark Alan Shropshire, 54, of Newcastle, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014, at his home. The first-born child of Ron and Jan Shropshire, he was born March 18, 1960 in Port Hueneme, California.

Mark had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young man and had recently rededicated his life by baptism. Mark was always a big sports buff and participated in every sport offered in high school and went on to play college football. He played softball well into his forties. He owned and operated APC Electrical Services up until his death and was very successful. He was a strict employer but he never asked more of his employees than he could and would do himself. He was always willing to help friends, family, and neighbors when they needed help in the electrical field. Mark had a passion for animals and his real love was his farm, where he first raised show pigs and then show goats. He worked with the 4-H and FFA programs in supporting the members and their projects. Mark was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by any.

Mark was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his sister, Tammy Ray.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa Shropshire of Newcastle; his father, Ron Shropshire and wife, Naweeta, of Blanchard; his mother, Jan Yancey and husband, Ronald, of Newcastle; two daughters, Misty Ashmore and husband, Jeff, of Newcastle, and Amanda McKinnon of Newcastle; one son, Darrell White of Manhattan, Kansas; two nephews, Brandon Ray and wife, Ashley, of Moore, and Michael Ray of Mustang; five little granddaughters, Maddie, Lillie, Kacie, Tayler, and Brandi, who were the love of his life; and many other loved ones and friends.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard. Online obituary and guestbook are available at www.eisenhourfh.com.
