Gerri Shopteese
July 22, 1953 ~ April 16, 2021

Gerri Shopteese, 67, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home.

He was born July 22, 1953 to Melford and Donna (Alstrom) Shopteese in Amarillo, Texas.

Gerri was raised in Amarillo, Texas and Rifle Colorado. He lived most of his adult life in Colorado and has lived in Tecumseh for the past several years.

He worked as a drywall and painter contractor for many years and was a member of the Painters Union.

Gerri was a proud member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. He loved fishing and making Native American carvings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melford and Donna Shopteese.

Survivors include 1 son, Jermiaha Schmitz of Abilene, Kansas; 3 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Pam Shopteese of Midwest City, OK, Yvonne and Gary Johnson of Foster, OK, Terri and bob Seaman of Choctaw, OK; 1 brother and 1 sister-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Shopteese; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; 1 aunt, Aunt Babe; many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

No formal services will be held. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
