James Ray Shoopman
May 5, 1940 ~ February 24, 2025

James Ray Shoopman, 84, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed from this life and went on to live at his Heavenly home on February 24, 2025.

James was born on May 5, 1940, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Andrew Jackson Shoopman and Anna Laura Shoopman (Locke). James attended Faxon Elementary School in Faxon, Oklahoma, and he attended and graduated from Duncan High School in Duncan, Oklahoma. James married the love of his life, Brenda Kay Shoopman on December 28, 1957, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. James was of the Baptist faith, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, remodeling homes with his wife, and spending time with his family.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Shoopman and Anna Laura Shoopman, son, Calvin Ray Shoopman, brothers, Jackie T. Shoopman and William Henry Shoopman.

James is survived by his loving wife of the home, Kay Shoopman of Kingston, Oklahoma, daughter, Reta January and spouse Doug of Kingston, Oklahoma, daughter, Cathryn Parnell of Kingston, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family has selected cremation services for James.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
