Cheryl Faye Shoemake, age 60, of Blanchard, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 30, 2018, in Blanchard. The daughter of Charles Edward and Zola Fern (Forbes) Shoemake, she was born April 13, 1958, in Oklahoma City.
Cheryl traveled all over the United States but always referred to Blanchard as her home. Her favorite place to live was Hampton Beach, New Hampshire where she and her husband, Walter Daly II, raised their three children. Cheryl never met a stranger and always saw the good in people. She trusted them and even when she was disappointed, she would put on her rose-colored glasses and find the good in the situation. Her glass was always half-full. She loved a variety of music and loved to dance. Cheryl was affectionately known by some as "Trixie". Other than her love for her family, she loved the beach as the best of God's wonders. She worked as a waitress and loved her job, especially working at the Ashworth on The Sea in Hampton Beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Cheryl is survived by her three children, Charles James "C.J." Daly and his wife, Becky, of New Hampshire, April Grace Engelking and her husband, Rickey, of New Hampshire, and Walter Francis "Docky" Daly, III of Belleville, Illinois; five grandchildren; three sisters, Florence Lemons of Blanchard, Charlene Hughes and her husband, Jim, of Norman, and Katheryn Kaye Barta of Blanchard; four nieces; two nephews; and many other loved ones and friends from coast to coast.
The family will hold a memorial service at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Eisenhour Funeral Home of Blanchard.
Cheryl's ashes will be scattered in the ocean at Hampton Beach.
