Steve was born July 20, 1952, in Enid, to Dora Mae and Chester Shockley.
He graduated from Ringwood High School. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and served four years.
He worked in the oilfield and later owned Four Seasons Heating and Air in Kingfisher.
He met his death Saturday, June 11, traveling east on Hwy 8, hitting a calf.
He is survived by his Mother of Ringwood; son, Ryan, of Canton; a sister, Judy Smith; a brother, Craig and his wife Lynn; special nephew and niece, Brent and Ashley; and his many biker friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chet Shockley.
He donated his body to medical science and will be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 29 at New Beginning Church in Ringwood.
FAIRVIEW — A Ringwood man was killed Saturday night when the 2002 Harley Davidson he was riding hit a calf on a Major County highway, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Steven Shockley, 68, was eastbound on Oklahoma 8 at N2610 Road when he struck the bovine that was crossing the highway approximately 6 miles east of Fairview, at 10:43 p.m., OHP reports. Shockley was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officials.
Shockley’s condition was listed as normal and driving conditions were clear. The report states Shockley was not wearing a helmet.
