Daniel Lane Shire, 61, Medford, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his home.
The Service to celebrate his life is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the United Methodist Church in Pond Creek, with Pastor Hagen Jackson Officiating.

Dan was born March 30, 1956, in Enid, to Wilfred (Fred) and Donna Fern (Cox) Shire.
He graduated from Medford High School in 1974. Dan spent most of his life working in agriculture, through farming, cattle buying, and driving a truck.
Dan enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with his family, friends, and most importantly his grandchildren.
He spent his last few years living on the farm and was vital in helping to care for his mother and father.
Dan is survived by his father, Fred Shire of Medford, and three brothers, Steve Shire and wife Debi of Enid, Roger Shire of Medford, and Doug Shire of Medford.
He leaves behind one son, Cody Shire and wife Ashton of Enid, and three daughters, Chelsea Shire of Enid, Malori Shire and fiance Will Melson of Enid, and Mistie Jackson of Tulsa.
Dan had nine grandchildren: Cashen, Hollis, Lyrik, Trevon, Makyiah, Aleah, Alora, Hannah and Josie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Fern Shire.
