Tina Marie Shipley, 68, passed away in Tulsa, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. The youngest of eight children born to Noah and Tempie (Dice) Ketcher, Tina was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma on November 24, 1948. Tina married Monty Shipley on March 1, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the time of Monty's death in 2013, they had celebrated 41 years of marriage. Tina worked as a registrar and secretary for Tulsa Public School for several years until her retirement in 2011. Since then she worked full time helping Greg run the Shipley Container Service.
Tina was devoted to her family. She attended many band concerts, football, soccer and volleyball games, dance recitals and countless assemblies to watch her grandchildren. Tina loved to spend weekends at the lake with all the kids. She loved to cook Sunday dinners and have everyone gather at her house. She loved for her sisters to visit and spend evenings sharing stories, laughing and drinking margaritas on the back porch. She also loved to go to the casino, she'd complain about the machines never paying when she lost her money and she'd be over the moon when she finally won. She spent countless hours the past two years helping Greg renovate his new home. She scraped wallpaper, swept the floors, cleaned and helped paint, all while teasing him he'd never be able to afford all her labor.
Tina was preceded in passing by her husband Monty, her son Stephen Shipley, her parents Noah and Tempie Ketcher, and her siblings Waite Ketcher and L.J. Ketcher.
She is survived by her son Greg (spouse Phaedra) Shipley; her daughter Lisa (spouse Jason) Wright; her daughter-in-law Connie Shipley; her three sisters, Virginia Hummingbird, Katie Sue Hummingbird and Wynena Bean; her two brothers, Donald Ketcher and Stand Ketcher, her eight grandchildren, Chet Shipley, Clayton Wright, Hunter Shipley, Jake Wright, Wade Shipley, Allie Wright, Chenoah Shipley and Calan Shipley; and numerous other family members and friends.
