Barbara Sharlene (Qualls) Shields
February 20, 1941 ~ June 18, 2021

Barbara Sharlene Shields departed this life at her home on June 18, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.

Sharlene was born February 20, 1941, to William Clyde Qualls and Opal Marie (Vaughn) Qualls. She is survived by her children, Suzette Williamson (Mike) of Pflugerville, Texas, and Joe Shields (Stephanie) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four much loved grandchildren, Jonathan Arden Shields of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Rebecca Sharlene Gonzalez-Miller (Andy) of Elgin, Texas, Jessica Kay Shields (Trent and Myna) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Sydney Rae Shields (Aaron) of Mesa, Arizona; and two great-grandchildren, Norah Marie Gonzalez-Miller, and James Arden Gonzalez-Miller of Elgin, Texas. She also leaves behind her sister, Becky Presley, of Jacksonville, Texas; sister-in-law, Clarie Qualls of Houston, Texas, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins, plus many members of the Blizzard family, stretching from Arizona to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, that also called her Gram.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Arden Shields; son, Jimmy Arden (Ardie) Shields, Jr.; her parents; a sister, Lavern Kendall (Robert) of Trumann, Arkansas; brother, James Elvin Qualls of Houston, Texas; and brother, Curtis Jay Qualls of Trumann, Arkansas.

Sharlene lived her life to the fullest and found happiness in her daily activities. She was known for her love of family, friends, NCIS, Hallmark movies, and her beloved Snoopy. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and reading. She was a prolific hugger, never letting a greeting or departure go by without a hug.

Her loved ones will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at the Browns Chapel Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel.
