Paul D. Shero, 71 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Tacoma, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ed Dowty officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
God blessed this world on April 2, 1944 with Paul David Shero. Paul lived his childhood being happy. In adulthood, he was blessed with the marriage to Wanda Joy that gave him four amazing children, Mary Paulette, Paul David, Donnia Lynn, and Tammy Wynette, who was at the Gates of Heaven to greet her Dad.
At the age of 41, Paul married and gave his heart to Mary Ruth and their family was multiplied with four daughters, Connie Oneta, Mary Deloris, Marlene Odessa, and Sandra Naomi.
Paul went into the arms of Jesus and those greeting him besides his daughter, Tammy Wynette, were his two sisters, Mary Lou Stager, Betty Marie Lockhart, his aunt and uncle that were his second parents and the parents who raised him, Jeromy and Annie Brown, grandsons, Christopher Anthony Edmonds, Robert William Stout and his great-grandson, Christopher Landon Taylor and his parents, Paul and Ruth Shero, and many other family and loved ones.
Left to remember him and tell his story are Paul David and Maria Shero, Jim and Mary Haire, Donnia Harris, Connie Cummings, L.B. and DiDi Bennett, Molly Hayes, Doug and Sandy Hurley, 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Harry Lockhart and George Lockhart; and a multitude of friends.
Paul never met a stranger, maybe that is why he loved driving for a living. He and Mary spent ten years of their lives on the road driving long hauls. He found great joy in showing his love of Jesus to everyone he met. He was a bus driver for church, but driving wasn"t enough, he showed children the ways Jesus loved them and how the devil would try to stop it. He drove kids, grandkids, and great"grandkids around when they needed it. He loved singing and telling jokes to all that knew him.
Paul had his share of hardships growing up, but if he had but five minutes to talk about it, it was stories of fishing, hunting, and swimming. He was full of joy and the Love of Jesus always. He enjoyed life and was on his last trip when his life ended.
