Donnie Gene “Booger” Sherefield, age 74, of Bennington, Oklahoma passed away on July 31, 2024, in Colbert, Oklahoma. Donnie was born on March 23, 1950, in Bennington to the late Albert and Mildred (Laymon) Sherefield. Donnie graduated from Bennington High School and later married Patricia Ann Daniels on July 30, 1971. They made their home in Bennington and began their journey together that lasted 53 years. To this union were born two daughters, Lisa and Angela. Donnie worked in the farming and hay hauling business and mechanic all his life until he was physically unable to do so. Donnie never met a stranger, and everyone was always welcome at his home where you could find him sitting on his front porch ready to tell a story about hunting or fishing. He loved his family immensely and was blessed with the time that he spent with them.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mildred Sherfield; brother Johnny Sherefield; sister Delores Smith and her husband Don Ray and his nephew Gary Don Powell.
Loved ones left behind to continue his legacy are his loving wife Pat Sherefield; daughters Lisa Sherefield and Angela Jackson; grandchildren Hunter Pahlon, Whitney Jackson, and Luke Jackson; great grandchildren Kreek and Tripp; sister Joan Powell and husband Gary; nephews Steve Powell and wife Edie and Russell Sherefield and wife Kim; niece Leslie Powell; great nephews Dylan and Caleb Powell; great nieces Gracie Powell and Mackenzie Beckham and numerous extended family and many friends.
Funeral services to celebrate Donnie’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2024, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Ross Phillips will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Sullivan, Mike Andrews, Steve French, Travis Hicks, Roger Curtis, Rick Raney, Chad Andrews, Todd Andrews, Chase Andrews, Danny Johnson, Casey O’Dell, Duke Kirk, John Teel, and Carson Wright. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1-3 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com
