L. A. Shepherd, Sr.

March 29, 1926 ~ May 25, 2012

L.A. Shepherd, Sr. Died May 25, 2012. He was born March 29, 1926 to Arthur Isaac and Katie Kathryn Shepherd in Water Valley, MS.

L.A. was married to Betty (Allen) Shepherd for 55 great years.

He taught DECA at Midwest City High School and served as a psychiatrist in the Mid-Del School District. He was a long time member of 1st Baptist Church of Midwest City and for many years a member of Midwest City Kiwanis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Columbus and sister Adele.

L.A. is survived by his wife Betty; son L.A. and wife, son Phillip and wife; three grandchildren, Larry and wife, Jon and Katie and husband; one great granddaughter Valentina; the mother of his grandchildren Dee Dee; and two nephews, Freddie Faulker and J.W. Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the 1st Baptist Church of Midwest City Kitchen or the charity of your choice.

Visitation will be at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Sunday and Monday 8 am-8pm, with family available to greet friends Sunday from 2-4 pm and Monday from 6-8 pm. Private burial will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday.
