Bonnie LaRee (Taylor) Shepherd went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2022. Celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 26 at New Horizons United Methodist Church in Woodward, Oklahoma at 11:00 am CST where she was a long time very active member.
Bonnie was born to Clifford Earnest (Earnie) and Ida Taylor on October 7, 1940 in Beaver, Oklahoma.
She lived in Woodward where she had many friends. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her biggest joy (except for her love of the Lord). She was a devoted Mom and grandmother. If she had a sadness it was that there was such great distances to many of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. That is also why she and the whole family were so grateful to her grandkids Laney and Colt Snider who were local and served as the proxy for all of her grandkids and great grandkids. They likely had to endure hugs for themselves as well as all the other grandkids – so thank you Laney and Colt for that.
Bonnie also wanted all to remember Reese Roach a little girl that brought great joy to mom when she got to care for her. Reese died of brain cancer so very young but touched many lives. Traveling was very hard on her but she would do it if it meant getting to see her beloved family.
Bonnie graduated Beaver High School in 1958 and married Floyd Clarence Born that year. They had three sons Tony Dwain, Timothy Rex and Terry Don. Bonnie later worked on extending her education at Liberal area Vo-Tech graduating as a Medical Assistant.
Bonnie's life was then further enhanced when she married the wonderful Clifford E (Tug) Shepherd in 1985. With that, she also picked up 4 step children Duane, Dwana, Dwight and Scott. As mom put it, "I know they have a great mother already but I am so thankful to be able to be their step mother as they do make me proud."
Bonnie worked at Anthony's Department Store 1985 - 1995 in sales, Cowboy Tack Shop and Ken's Haberdashery 1997 - 2006, and later returned to work part-time at Ken's Haberdashery after Tug's death. She was able to add to her many friends through her work and she so appreciated every friend she had.
Bonnie's grandchildren are: Laney and Colt Snider, Matthew, Caleb, Davis, Beth and Jack Born, Dallas, Denton (deceased), Jake, Darcy and Jessie Shepherd, Dixie Christie, Brenna Vassar, Jayne Mosher, Brandy Furr.
Bonnie had 18 and counting great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister Barbara Marshall; special nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
