The Services Celebrating and Honoring the life of Sandra Kay Shearon "Sandy", 70, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday July 29, 2020 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Sandy was born on November 20, 1949 in Cumberland, Maryland to Vernon and Genevieve Browning. She passed from this life July 20, 2020.
She was raised and educated in Cumberland, Maryland and graduated from Ft. Hill High School in 1967. After graduating she attended Catherman's Business School. She became pen pals for several years with David Allen Shearon while he served in the U.S. Navy. They married on July 11, 1968 and moved to Kansas. Of this union three children were born: Wayne, Angela, and Amy.
She had a long-held dream of becoming a nurse and saw it become a reality when she graduated as a Registered Nurse from Hutchinson Hospital School of Nursing in 1980. She moved to Enid, Oklahoma and worked as a dedicated operating room nurse for 33 years at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her children; Wayne Shearon and Amy Rodgers, her grandchildren; Stephanie Ingle and husband Greg, John Shearon and wife Emily, Corbett and Delaney Rodgers, her great-grandchildren; Kennedy and Wyatt Ingle; and three brothers, Jim, Terry, and Bob Browning.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Angela.
