Janet Debra (Branch) Shearhart

August 24, 1957 ~ 2012

Janet Debra Shearhart, 54, a longtime Bartlesville resident, died Thursday in Tulsa.

Janet was born August 24, 1957, in Virginia Beach, VA, to Glenn and Elizabeth Branch. She grew up in Virginia Beach, then later in Bartlesville where she attended Col- High School. She married John Everett Shearhart on July 27, 1973, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville. They had two children, John E. Shearhart Jr. and Marie Elizabeth Shearhart.

Throughout her life, Janet enjoyed people and spending time with family and friends. She was an active volunteer with several community groups including the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts. Janet served as the playground assistant at Hoover and Ranch Heights elementary schools for many years. Janet was known by Mom to a lot of people. One of her favorite group activities was taking part in the Society of Creative Anachronism which researches and re-creates the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe (Middle Ages). She was the leader of an explorer post for medieval Renaissance.

She worked as an Authorization Agent at the SITEL call center. She enjoyed the people she worked with in all of her jobs. Janet loved her family and all her kids dearly, and her grandson Peter was extra special in her eyes.

She is survived by her husband John Everett Shearhart Sr. of the home; son John E. Shearhart Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter Marie Shearhart of Bartlesville; and two grandchild Peter Neimah Duncan Shearhart of Bartlesville and Anisa Dawn Edmondson of Bartlesville. She leaves behind one brother David Branch of Nebraska; and numerous cousins and friends.

Memorial services for Janet will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.davisfamilyfuneralhome.com
