Pepper JoAnn Shawn was born August 14, 2024 to her parents, Joshua and Kayla Shawn. She came into this world against all odds. And she continued to fight those odds for twenty-two beautiful days. She fought hard to be able to meet her older brothers, Jasper and Jacob. And they returned the favor by adoring her every single day.
Pepper came into this world quickly and unexpectedly. She was perfectly imperfect. And throughout her life, she continued to do the unexpected. She continued to fight and defy all the odds that were stacked against her.
She gave the world twenty-two days. Those days were filled with love, happiness, and adoration. Her favorite place was right on her mama’s chest. She instantly would calm and settle right in. Pepper’s favorite voice though, was daddy’s. Daddy would talk to her and she would turn to his voice and try her hardest to open her eyes. Daddy’s girl from the very start.
She will never know the pain and heartache of the world. She lived only feeling all the beautiful things. Her body stole her opportunity to grow and live a full life, but her impact on the world will continue.
She is preceded in death by her uncle, Devin Murray.
She is survived by her parents, Joshua and Kayla Shawn, and brothers, Jasper and Jacob Shawn of Ringwood, OK. Grandparents Teresea and Morris Lawson of Seiling, OK. Jim Shawn of Taloga, OK. Calvin and Marilyn Murray of Rifle, CO. And Carol Martin of Shattuck, OK. Aunt Sabrina Shawn and Matt Smith of Yukon, OK. Uncle Jared Shawn of Taloga, OK. Aunt Jennie Atwood of Grand Junction, CO. Uncle Thomas Wellman of Shawnee, OK. And many other close family and friends.
Memorial contributions in Pepper’s name may be made to Safe Haven Crisis Center of Fairview, OK, or Abel Speaks Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
