Jo Ann (Glass) Sharp
October 30, 1932 ~ August 27, 2022 (age 89)

Jo Ann Sharp passed away August 27, 2022, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, she was 89.

Jo Ann was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on October 30, 1932, to Curtis Alexander and Vera Beatrice (Roe) Glass. She was the youngest of 5 children. Jo Ann attended Pawnee High School. She married the love of her life G.W. “Dub” Spurgeon on February 26, 1949, and to this union was born two children, Larry Eugene, and Susan Lyn. They made their home in Pawnee where Jo Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. After Dub passed away in 1979, she was again blessed to find love and married Charles “Nick” Sharp. The two had a splendid time uniting their families and children. Jo Ann was simply a delightful woman with several interests and an amazing personality. She loved to crochet and enjoyed playing the washboard with the Gospel Jubilee. Her other interests included playing dominoes, cards, spending time with family and friends, and spreading joy. Jo Ann was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church, was an employee of the Piggly Wiggly in Pawnee, and the District Manager of the Gibble Gas Food Hut.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Dub and Nick, her son Larry Spurgeon, brother Curtis Glass, Jr., sisters Phyllis, Vera Jean, and Willa Bell.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Susan and husband Dennis Dunlap of Bartlesville, stepdaughter Gloria Howe and husband Carl of Shawnee, KA, stepson Roger Sharp and wife Becky of Yukon, OK. Also left to cherish and carry on her legacy are her grandchildren Lyn Roberts and husband Dave of Bowie, Texas, Brenna Hutcheson and husband Larry of Fairfax, OK, Joey Dunlap and wife Teresa of Wentzville, MO, Jamey Dunlap and wife Candy of Bartlesville, Loni Kaufman and husband Edward of Bartlesville, Michelle Burchett and husband Aaron of Lansing, KA, and Heather Petrey and husband Damon of Olathe, KA, and Andrea Scott and husband Matthew as well as many great grandchildren, dear friends, and cherished acquaintances.

Celebration of Life Services will be held 11: 00 am Saturday, September 10, 2022, in the Ponca City Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Adam Phillips officiating.
