Forrest L. Shankle, 56, of Poteau, passed away Sept. 11, 2009, in Poteau. He was born July 2, 1953, in Poteau. He was the CEO of the construction firm Select Homes, Inc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Derotha Shankle and a brother, Gary Shankle.
He is survived by his wife, Jean-Anne of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay Shankle and Jennifer Boman of Poteau; a daughter, Devin Shipman and Sean Covey of Monroe; grandchildren, Brooklyn Shipman of Monroe, Jadyn Boman of of Poteau, Andruw Covey of Monroe, Jaxyn Shankle of Poteau and McKenna Covey of Howe; brothers Robert and wife Connie Shankle of Monroe and Dennis Shankle of Monroe; nieces and nephews, Kim Smahay and husband Jerry of Collierville, Tenn., Katie Pierce of Poteau and Trevor and Kayleigh Shankle of Monroe; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Brenda Pierce of Poteau and Linda and Gary Winton of Cookson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Bill J. and Louise Pierce of Poteau; and numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating.
The family will visit with friends and relatives on Tuesday from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m., after the service, at Glenn Thompson's hangar at Robert S. Kerr Airport in Poteau.
Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is in charge of arrangements.
