Henry Franklin "Frank" Shain

Henry Franklin "Frank" Shain
Sept 1, 1933 ~ Oct 2, 2004

Henry Franklin "Frank " SHAIN passed away Oct. 2, 2004 at the age of 71. He was born Sept. 1, 1933 in Falls of Rough, KY to Wilber Henry and Gladys A. (Mallernee) Shain.

In his working years, Frank had been a landscaper, truck driver, and was currently employed at the WalMart Deli. He found laughter in everything and could make anyone laugh. Frank was always the first to help someone and was a very giving man. He was known as the "Toy Man" and any money he spent was always for children. Frank donated the toys from Claw Machines to Ronald McDonald House, Toys for Tots, the Christmas Connection, Red Andrews, the Murrah Bombing and Children's Hospital. In addition to all of these organizations, he simply enjoyed giving to people and children in general.

Frank was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebecca's.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Frank leaves wonderful, lasting memories with his loving wife, Florence Shain; one son, Gary Shain; six daughters, Marie "Cookie" Wargo, Kathryn Russell, Cheryl Mars Shain, Judy Shain, Terry Whitman and Bonnie Kirkham; two stepchildren, Kathryn "Tiger" Shatswell and Steven "Tazz" Scott; 27 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous close friends. Anyone can be a father, but he was a special dad.

A memorial service to celebrate Frank's life will be held 7:30 PM on Wednesday at the Shain family home, 2531 SW 24th St., OKC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Cancer Research or to the Ronald McDonald House.
