The Memorial Service celebrating and honoring the life of Mary R. Shade, 78, Enid, will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday November 30, 2018, in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel.
Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born September 17, 1940, in Westfield, Indiana, to Thomas Francis Martin and Alice Christine Simms, and passed from this life on November 16, 2018, in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Westfield, Indiana, and moved with her family to Akron, Ohio. She played the trumpet and French horn in the marching band She attended Bookdale High School and graduated from John R. Butchel High School in 1957.
She then moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and in 1993, she moved to Enid, Oklahoma. She worked at various restaurants throughout her life including The Hitching Post in Cheyenne, and Ramies Restaurant in Enid for over thirteen years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ohio, the Lutheran Church in Wisconsin, and was a Jones Daughter in the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Becker of Enid, brother Donald Lee Martin, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister Tonya Ballard, of Mansfield, Ohio, and Karole Breckenridge, of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Thomas and Martin; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Mary Roxanne Roberson; and brothers, Tommy and Robert.
