Paul Rex Servis

Aug. 23, 1909 ~ July 25, 2005

Funeral services for Paul Rex Servis, 96, of Purcell will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Services will be under the direction of Wadley’s Funeral Service in Purcell.

Mr. Servis died July 25, 2005.

He was born Aug. 23, 1909 in Harper County, near Woodward, the sixth child of James C. and Alta L. Servis.

Mr. Servis spent most of his life in the farming and ranching industry. When the war came, he was inducted into the United States Army. In September 1944, he was injured and released and he returned to Oklahoma where he worked as a mechanic.

After the death of his father and brother, he returned to the farm to care for his mother. After the death of his mother, Mr. Servis and his wife leased the farm and moved to Oklahoma City where he worked for Tinker Aircraft. He retired in 1980, and in 1985, moved to Purcell.

Mr. Servis was a member of the Nazarene Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include five nieces, Wanda Milam, Phyllis Rice, Georgia Hughes, Mary Frances Dowell and Alta Gureeby; four nephews, Dewey Tannahill, Glen Dean Redding, Charles Servis and Mark Servis and one sister-in-law, Hazel Servis.
