Michael Cole Seifried was born on May 28th, 1973, in Okeene, Oklahoma to Clifford and Sandy. He departed this life on May 11, 2016 at Canton, Oklahoma. Michael was the first-born grandson of Ed and Doris Propp and Troy and Darlene Seifried. He instantly became a family favorite to Ed and Doris, because he was the first male in a family with four girls and two granddaughters. And for Troy and Darlene, the parents of four boys themselves, because they finally had their first grandchild. Michael, a 1992 graduate of Canton Public Schools, enjoyed playing basketball, football, and running track. He always enjoyed trying to outrun his brother and sister, and others, but in later years, he could not outrun his son. He also participated in Band and made 1st Chair his freshman year, playing the saxophone. He continued to love playing until the time of his death.
Michael worked a variety of jobs, including working for Gilchrist Construction, as a welder for Mabar, and a farm hand in and around Canton He also delivered mail for the postal service in Fairview as an HCR carrier Of all of his vocations, Michael most enjoyed working with his family out on the farm, and eating spaghetti at the end of the day.
On May 21st, 1996, Michael became a father when Tanner Cole was born. Michael was thrilled when Tanner moved to Canton for his Junior and Senior years of high school, and he loved watching him play football, basketball, and running track. Michael will be remembered for his constant smile and wry sense of humor. He will be especially missed by his nephews, who adored him from the moment they met him. And he will be loved forever by the rest of his family, as they look forward to the day when they see him again.
Michael joined his grandparents, Troy and Darlene Seifried, and Ed Propp and Doris Howard in heaven, where we are sure he is looking for a management position. He is survived by his son,Tanner Seifried; parents Clifford Seifried and Sandy and Charles Gilchrist; brother Mickey and Courtney Seifried, nephews Ayden, Easton and Sutton; and sister Mylissa and Mike Brown, nephews Tyler Jack and Ryan Dean; he also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his many friends that he loved and enjoyed spending time with them.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Canton Christian Church with Steve Driskill and Jeremy Parker officiating. Memorials may be made to the Canton Fire Department with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 36, Canton, OK 73724. Condolences may be offered online at www.haiglerpierce.com.
