Jo Ann (Wilson) Scully

July 25, 1924 ~ October 17, 2011

Jo Ann (Wilson) Scully, 87, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on October 17, 2011 following a long illness. Born in Bessie, OK to Clyde and Mae Wilson on July 25, 1924, they later moved to Oklahoma City where Jo Ann graduated from Central High School and later was employed by Equitable Life Insurance Company.

She married Robert Henry (Bob) Scully on January 16, 1946. They spent over sixty-five years together, highlighted by publishing newspapers in Henryetta, Okmulgee, Choctaw, Okemah and Weleetka, OK. Jo Ann retired after twenty years from the Oklahoma"s Department of Human Services where she managed one of the agency"s fiscal departments.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband Bob of the home and their children: Henry (Pat) Patrick Scully of Choctaw, OK, Linda Jo Geier of Tulsa, OK and Robert (Bob) Clyde and Carol Scully of Edmond, OK.

Her love and devotion to her family is the fiber of her legacy, including three children, nine grand children, ten great-grand children and two great-great grand daughters.

Barnes Friederich Funeral Home, 1820 S Douglas Blvd in Midwest City, is conducting funeral arrangements.

Public viewing will be available from 8 am to 8 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the funeral home.

Services will be conducted at 10 am on Friday, October 21, 2001 at St. Matthew"s United Methodist Church, 300 N Air Depot, Midwest City.

A special Memorial Service honoring her life will be held at 10 am on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in the Chapel at Epworth Villa, 14901 N. Pennsylvania Ave.

The family would like to recognize the wonderful quality and loving care provided by Quality Life Hospice and the Epworth Villa Staff.

A memorial fund has been established. Donations are welcomed for the Community of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal 232 E 113th Street, New York City, NY 10029
