SuWane Hollis Scott was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to B D and Eren Hollis on June 26, 1946. She graduated from Welch High School (Welch, Oklahoma), Ozark Bible College (Joplin, Missouri), and Wayne State University (Wayne, Nebraska).
SuWane loved the Lord, her family and friends. She loved to sing, especially in a choir, and had a sweet tooth.
SuWane was a natural teacher. She spent her life teaching thousands of kids to read, those who were on their last chance of reading success. She taught hundreds of children how to play piano. She taught her children to love the Lord, taught her grandchildren to be generous, and taught her friends to laugh. She spent the last part of her life traveling the world in between teaching and tutoring. SuWane lived and taught in Carrollton, Texas for 40 years before retiring in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She is survived by her brother, Toney Hollis, her children, Julie (Craig) Rathbone, Randy Scott, Gary (Coby) Scott, and her grandchildren, David (Presley) Rathbone, Bradley (Mabree) Scott, Jonathan Rathbone, Jake Scott, Madelyn Scott, Elizabeth Rathbone, Nathan Scott, and Trey Scott. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and a long line of friends who will miss her loyal friendship and love.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 30 at 10:30 AM at Adams Boulevard Chrch of Christ in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
