Graveside services will be held Friday, June 9th, 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Martha Ann Scott who passed away June 6, 2006.
She was a mother and friend to everyone. Martha Ann (Bell) Scott was born on June 13, 1931 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. After the death of her mother, when Martha was 2 years old, she and her brother Bill were raised by her loving father Frank.
Her family moved from Oklahoma to Bakersfield when she was five years old.
After graduating high school she met her husband, Buzz, of 58 years. Martha and Buzz had two wonderful children, Connie and Buzz. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, and special friend to many that knew her.
With her husband Buzz she helped run their family business, Buzz Scott Crane, Inc. for many years.
As all who knew her she was the #1 George Strait fan, traveling far and wide to attend his concerts.
Every chance she had she loved to shop at Nordstroms in Santa Barbara, spend time with her granddaughters, Sheryce and Marci, and go down to "the Yard" to visit with her grandson Nick. Going to lunch every Friday with her friends Shirley Collins and Jimalee Melton was always a special time, as were the many gambling trips she took with her friend Tara.
Martha shared her love and gave of herself endlessly.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Pairlee Bell; father, Frank Bell; brother, Bill Bell; and daughter, Connie [Scott] Ingalls.
Martha is survived by her husband, Walter "Buzz" Scott; her son and daughter-in-law, Buzz and Jody Scott; her son-in-law, Craig Ingalls; and her grandchildren, Nick Ingalls, Sheryce and Marci Scott.
Martha will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but we have many special memories and cherished moments to keep her close to our hearts.
Visitation begins today Thursday, June 8th, from 2-8 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary, 3700 River Blvd.
