Daniel Ray Scott, age 38 of Tuttle, passed away, Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
Danny was born November 27, 1984 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the oldest of two children born to Ricky Anthony Scott and Patty Rene’e (Koonce) Scott. He was born, raised and attended school in Newcastle. During high school he played and excelled in numerous sports. Danny found his true love and life long partner in 2010, Kami Ashell Mericle. They were quite the team and shared their life together for 13 amazing years. Danny got the privilege of working everyday with his best friend and dad. He cherished those moments and dedicated so much of himself in the company that he owned with his dad, Rick’s Safe Rooms. When Danny wasn’t working you could find him hunting or fishing with friends. He was an avid outdoorsman. Danny always invested all of himself in others. He was the voice of reason, a man with true integrity, and a true friend that not just listened to respond but actually just listened. Danny was a giver and a light in other’s lives. He was known by “Uncle Danny” to all his friends’ kids. He loved OU football, was always willing to barter and hated any and all festivals. He believed in God and had the kindest soul. Danny’s famous quote pretty much describes him perfectly, “I’m pretty much the Best I know!”
Danny will be dearly missed. We will miss his infectious laugh, the twinkle in his eyes and that amazing dimple when he smiled.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa’s, Chester Scott and Gene Koonce; his uncle Calvin Koonce; his favorite great uncle and friend, Jason Cornell; and his best friend and partner in crime, a bull mastiff named Mooch.
Danny is survived by: his lifetime partner, Kami Ashell Mericle of the
home; his son, Logan; his dad, Ricky Scott of Newcastle; his mother, Patty
Scott of Newcastle and his sister, Randi Scott of Newcastle. Nieces Ava
Mericle, Georgia Roy and nephew Dylan Roy. Two beloved dogs, Diesel and
Marv, along with a host of friends and family.
