David Christian “Cotton” Schwab, 68, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his home in Davenport, Oklahoma.
Cotton was born on Tuesday, August 3, 1954, in Augsburg, Germany, to Benjamin and Laura (Bergmann) Schwab. Due to his father being in the military, he grew up in various places throughout the world, mainly in Hawaii and California. In his adult years, he settled in Stroud and Chandler, Oklahoma, and then finally, in Davenport.
Throughout his life, Cotton worked in the oilfield, as a roofer, and truck driver. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing poker, and playing pool. He took pride in his yard, mowing it, keeping it clean, and gardening. Most importantly, Cotton was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
Cotton was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Laura Schwab; wife and mother of his children, Janet Schwab; and his second wife, Glenda Miller.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Leila Blakley and her husband, Jerrod Blakley, and Stefanie Long; a son, David Hall and his wife, Shelley Hall; three sisters, Sonja, Karin, and Wanda; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends.
