Richard L. Schuman, Jr., 72-year-old Enid resident, passed away April 10, 2021, in St. Louis, Missouri. Rick was born January 24, 1949, in Montgomery, Alabama. He served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He went on to work for City Service Gas/Williams Natural Gas/Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline and held many different titles throughout his over 41-year career. Rick was an active member of the church (Life Group) and developed true friendships within. Rick took great peace in the knowledge that he would one day be home with Jesus.
Rick was an avid Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering in the garage. And, as everyone knows, he could fix anything. He also enjoyed the outdoors, camping, gardening, and hanging out by the pool.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Ginger Schuman, and his father and stepmother, Dick and Edna Schuman. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Kay; son, DJ and his wife, Dana; and daughters, Carley, Amy, and Carrie. He was proud Papa to Dexter, Kolton, Taylor, and Kinedi. Rick is also survived by brother, Steve Schuman, and sister, Ellen Farrar, as well as lifelong friends, Steve and Suellen Bryan.
The memorial service for Rick will be 10:00a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Masks are strongly encouraged.
