Nathan James Schuermann, 42, was born in Oklahoma City, OK, December 5, 1980, to Stan Schuermann and Renee Soper. He attended Mustang and Pond Creek schools, where he graduated with the class of 1999. Following high school, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. and served his country for 5½ years. After serving his country, he returned to Grant County, Oklahoma, and was employed with Union Pacific Railroad. He loved his career and his friendships that he made there. He was currently employed by K-2 Services of Pond Creek.
Nathan loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and OU football. He also enjoyed spending time with his son Blanton, no matter what they were doing. Nathan was a compassionate, caring man who always enjoyed helping others and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include sons Blanton James Schuermann and Kristopher Woolison, parents Rod and Renee Soper and Stan Schuermann, sister Shana Schuermann and fiancé Ronny Glanton, grandmothers Rita Cink and Pat Shryock, nieces Ava and Ivy Banks, a large extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Loren and Alma Clemmons; grandfathers Larry Cink, Leon Soper, Earl Schuermann; stepmother Verona Schuermann; Uncle Brad Cink and Aunt Susan Cink.
He will be dearly missed!
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday September 11, 2023, at the First Christian Church, Pond Creek, OK, with Pastor Josh Reese officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bluff City, KS.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made in Nathan's honor to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the donor's choice.
