Katherine "Kack" Schuerman died on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in Norman, Oklahoma. The daughter of W. C. and Eleanor Schmidt, she was born May 9, 1924, in Waco, Texas. She had two brothers, Bill and Bob Schmidt of Waco. Her parents and both brothers preceded her in death. She was a proud graduate of Baylor University and a lifelong Episcopalian.
She married Don Schuerman in Waco, Texas in 1942. They had twin sons, Bruce and Ken. Don was a career Air Force officer and they enjoyed the life of a military family, living in numerous places. Following retirement from the Air Force they retired to Waco. They traveled extensively, an activity which Kack continued after Don's death in 1982. Kack had a curious nature and enjoyed bridge and reading. In 2000 she moved to Norman, Oklahoma to be closer to her sons.
She is survived by her sons and their families which include three granddaughters, two great grandsons and a great granddaughter.
She will be laid to rest in her family's plot in Waco following a private graveside service. She will be sorely missed.
