Joseph Nickolas "Joe" Schroeder

Joseph Nickolas "Joe" Schroeder
Jan 3, 1941 ~ Apr 7, 2014

Joseph Nickolas Schroeder, age 73, and resident of Copan, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Joseph Nickolas Schroeder was born on January 3, 1941 in Richardton, North Dakota. He was the son of Joseph J. Schroeder and Eva (Riesinger) Schroeder. His early years were spent in North Dakota, before moving to Mesa, Arizona approximately 40 years ago. In the summer of 1999, he moved to Kansas to be near family, later relocating to Copan, Oklahoma in 2006, where he had resided until his death.

Joe was employed for 30+ years as an electrical wholesaler for Brown Wholesale in Phoenix, Arizona. In Dearing, Kansas, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service. He loved to travel, but his greatest enjoyment was his kids and grandkids, as he loved his family dearly. All the family members have many fond memories of trips to various places where they had fun admiring the sights and just being together.

Joe will be remembered and loved by all who knew him. He was always full of good humor and could bring a sense of laughter to any situation.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his two children, daughter, Vicki Smith and her husband, Scott, of Coffeyville, Kansas, and son, Rick Schroeder and his wife, Omega, of Ochelata, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother, Frank Schroeder and his wife, Doris, of Ogden, Utah; and sisters, Rosella Duskin of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Marlene Harms and her husband, Bob, of St. Paul, Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the League of Prayer or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

Memorial services for Mr. Schroeder will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Spirit Church, 900 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville. Pastor Darryl Wootton will officiate.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
