Jamie Sue (Burner) Schrag

Jamie Sue (Burner) Schrag
December 5, 1955 ~ August 21, 2020 (age 64)

Jamie Sue Burner Schrag passed away from pancreatic cancer August 21, 2020. She was born December 5th, 1955 in New Orleans, LA to Jay Bee and Anne Burner.

While attending OSU in Stillwater, she met and married Doug Schrag August 22, 1981. Besides being her husband of 39 years, he was also her best friend and she often said the funniest person she ever knew, because he made her laugh every day.

Sue graduated from OSU Veterinary School in 1982 and they moved to Oklahoma City where she started her own practice working with small animals and exotic pets.

January 1, 1983, their daughter, Christen Anne, was born. Sue, who had never remembered any dates, said this was God’s way of making sure she could remember Christen’s birthday. Her daughter and son-in-law, Ryan, gave her the greatest gifts, three wonderful grandsons that she enjoyed immensely.

Sue loved crafts of any kind: sewing, knitting, painting or beading. She was also an avid reader and every week was on to a new book. Puzzles of any kind were her favorite past time, whether crossword, jigsaw or sudoku.

Family members who preceded Sue in passing include her parents and brother, Jay. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Doug; daughter, Christen Foster and husband Ryan and grandsons, Ethan, Eli and Evan, all from Oklahoma City. She would want us to mention she is survived by all of her friends, old and new.

The family would like to thank John P. Duffy, MD, Brian Geister, MD, Oklahoma Palliative and Hospice Care and the amazing nurses and staff that took care of Sue.

Celebration of Sue’s life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2020 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church at 10am.
