Mellie "Gwen" (Arnett) Schmidt was born in Murphysboro, IL April 12, 1954, to Mellie Steele & Frank Jacquot. She departed from this life on March 16, 2022 at the age of 67.
Gwen never met a stranger, and was always positive, cheerful, considerate, and loving. She always had a smile on her face, which everyone loved. She worked at Stilwell Memorial Hospital in Medical Records off and on for about 30 years where she retired in 2019. She also enjoyed loving and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, cooking, baking cakes for birthdays, selling Mary Kay, loved shopping and spending time with her best friend Vicki of 40 years, and last but not least, being a member of the First Christian Church where she loved to serve the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her Mother, Late Husband Mike, and her Step-Sister Melinda Benham.
She is survived by a loving family which includes her husband Dana Schmidt of Stilwell. Her sons, Cory Arnett & wife Desiree of Pryor, Ok, with her grandchildren Rylan & Maylie, and Christopher Arnett & wife Michelle of Stilwell, with her grandchildren Michael, Megan, Matthew, and Madelynn; her brother Gene Jacquot & wife Lynn of Altoona, IA and Uncle Floyd Schuetz & wife Paula of Goreville, IL; several nieces & nephews, Cande Jacquot (Gene) of South Carolina, Amanda Snyder (Kiel) and Beau Jacquot (Tony) both of Wichita, KS. Melissa Eagle (Rob), Misty Nelson (Payton) both of Stilwell; Derick Arnett of Tulsa, OK, Jeremy Arnett of Stilwell, William Arnett of Muskogee, OK, Susan Myers of Owasso, OK, and LeeAnn Muttillo of St. Augustine, FL. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service was held 10:00 AM, Monday, March 21, 2022 at the First Christian Church, Stilwell, under the direction of Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Stilwell. OK.
