Minerva Adele Schiermeier, 89, formerly of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, died July 20, 2004, at the Jane Phillips Hospital. She was a resident of Bartlesville for the last five years.
A memorial service was held at 3:30 P.M. Thursday, July 22nd, 2004, at the Green Country Village and will also be held later at her home church, The Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village with Rev. Jim Farley officiating. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.
A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Schiermeier may do so to: the Washington County Chapter American Red Cross, 601 S. Jennings Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74003.
Minerva was born November 9th, 1914 in the family home at Alton, Illinois. Her parents were John and Florence Davis Keiselhorst. She graduated from Alton High School in 1933 and then attended business school. She and Knapel Fredrick Schiermeier were married May 3rd, 1941 and established their home in Alton. "Nape" worked as a chemical engineer for Shell Oil and Minerva raised their two sons, Bob and Bill. After moving to Chicago with Shell in 1965, Minerva worked at BonWit Tellers. Upon retirement in 1973, they moved to Hot Springs Village, AR. Minerva was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was always involved in community service clubs and with the American Red Cross. She and Nape traveled extensively throughout the world. They enjoyed playing golf and swimming.
Minerva had an active life and many friends at Green Country Village and Bartlesville. She played bridge every week and loved to attend the movies and visit with family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Robert, and his wife, Cheryl, of Bartlesville, OK; daughter-in-law, Sandra Schiermeier of Houston, TX; a brother, John Keiselhorst, of St. Louis, MO.; three grandsons-Marc Schiermeier, Seattle, Shane Schiermeier and wife, Daniella, Manheim, Germany; Clayton Schiermeier, Houston; a great-grandson, Phillip Schiermeier, Manheim, Germany. One niece, Sally , and nephews Paul, David, Eddy, and great nieces and nephews.
Minerva was preceded in death by her husband, Knapel and their youngest son, William (Bill) Schiermeier.
