Rodney Elmer Schadler

Rodney Elmer Schadler
October 29, 1961 ~ January 26, 2022

Rodney Elmer Schadler, age 60, finished his course on this low ground of sorrow on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He awaits arising from his sleep in Jesus when He returns.

Rodney was born in Aroma, Indiana, the 5th of 6 children, to Elmer K. and Marsha L. (Bachmann) Schadler, on October 29, 1961. He grew up in Anderson, Indiana, and graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1980. In 1982, he graduated from ITT Tech with an Associates Degree in Electronics. On November 5, 1983, he married his high school sweetheart, Michele Elaine Ramsey. They moved to Oklahoma in 1989. After a long wait of 22 years, God blessed this union with a beloved son, Dean Raymond - such a joy to Rodney's heart! Rodney was baptized into The General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on April 8, 1979. He loved traveling amongst the brethren and preaching the Word of God.

Throughout his life, Rodney enjoyed model trains and railroading, assembling model kits, attending model train meets, and had a great talent for automotive restoration. Rodney was a superb mechanic and problem solver. Rodney was an excellent dad and loved spending time with his son Dean, whether it be running errands, or as Rodney would call it "dinkin' around," attending Boy Scout meetings, doing car repair, or going to train shows with him.

Rodney was last employed as an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Specialty Rim Supply in Terre Haute, Indiana. Most of his working life he spent as an ASE Certified Mechanic (he was 2 courses away from achieving World Certification). Rodney was very knowledgeable in repairing and maintaining vacuum heat treating furnaces.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Marsha Schadler.

Rodney is survived by his wife of 38 years, Michele Schadler, son, Dean Raymond Schadler, siblings: Sherry McConnell, Suzanne Flatford, Timothy Schadler, Lisa Anderson, and Ruth Graves, and many extended family members and friends.

Services will be at Lawson - Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on Monday, January 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Visit www.frenchfuneralhome.com to light a candle in his memory.
