Carla Saunders passed away unexpectedly, July 14, 2020 at Purcell Municipal Hospital. Carla Jane Kerr was born July 17, 1955 in Oklahoma City, OK, the oldest of three children born to R. E. and Betty Kerr. She was raised in Wayne and attended Wayne Schools, graduating with the Bulldog Class of 1974. Carla had a heart for serving others, working in health care at area nursing homes and in the restaurant industry. She loved Christmas and spending time in the kitchen, baking and cooking. She was a talented painter and was good with arts and crafts. She was an active supporter of the Wayne Volunteer Fire Dept. She was proud of the work they do to help friends and neighbors in the Wayne Community. Especially, the Christmas Parade serving as the “Christmas Clown” and served in this way for the past 31 years. And while life wasn’t always easy for Carla, she did the best she could with what she had. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Carla was preceded in death by Her daughter, Lisa Huffman and Her parents, R.E. and Betty Kerr.
She is survived by, Her son, Bobby Saunders of Wayne, OK; Her brother James Kerr of Hinton, OK and Sister Teresa Brakefield and husband Pat of Wayne; Two grandchildren, Raedyn and Braley and a host of other family and friends.
