Emma Jo Sarver was born July 21, 1937 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Eder and Hattie (Speers) Bailey. She passed away in Vici, Oklahoma on March 15, 2020 at the age of 82 years, 7 months, and 23 days.
Jo grew up in Duncan, Arizona and graduated from Duncan High School. She later lived in Wilcox, Arizona where she met Claud Sarver and they were married on April 8, 1961 in Ft. Gordon, Georgia. They made their first home in Alamagordo, New Mexico after Claud's return from deployment to south Korea. This is where they started their family with the births of Richard and Kim. Then they moved to Yuma, Arizona when Claud was transferred to Yuma Proving Ground in the fall of 1968. This is where their last child, Betty, was born. In 1972 they moved their family to Burns Flat, Oklahoma where Claud continued his communication career with Allied Telephone Company. Then in January of 1973 they purchased a small farm on the Port school road where they finished raising their children in the Sentinel school district. Emma Jo worked at the Washita State Bank as a cashier in Burns Flat, Oklahoma during most of her children's school years. After Claud's retirement they sold the farm and moved back to Arizona. They resided in Safford until Claud's passing in 2016. Jo returned to Oklahoma at that time to live with her daughter, Betty. She moved to the Town of Vici Nursing home in October of 2017 where she was living when she passed from this earth with all 3 of her children by her side.
She loved traveling back to Arizona to see her family. She was an avid Nascar and Tony Stewart fan. She loved playing board games, solitaire, bingo and wii. She also enjoyed any type of mexican food.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Alton, Jerry and Kerry.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Currier and husband, Bryan, Leedey, OK, Betty Whittington and husband, Mark, Leedey, OK, one son, Richard Sarver and wife, Pam, Sentinel, OK, 3 brothers, Don, Safford, AZ, Allen, Tucson, AZ, and Dorsie, Las Cruses, NM, five sisters, Bonnie, Clifton, AZ, Marie, Tucson, AZ, Faye, Mesquite, NV, Barbara, Queen Creek, AZ, Mary Lou, Safford, AZ, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
