Barney Claude Sands was born July 8, 1955, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Royce Calvin and Helen Loyce (Copeland) Sands. He passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at the age of 64.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whitt Funeral Home/Oakcrest Cremation Center.
Barney graduated from Central High School in Marlow. He was employed by Halliburton as a truck driver. After leaving Halliburton he was employed by Family Dollar. He was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour novels. He also enjoyed playing computer games. Barney raised the best tomatoes in his garden. He also watched John Hagee, Pat Robertson, and Charles Stanley on Sunday morning television. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, west of Marlow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Royce Sands II. Barney is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Cherlyn and Jesse Carroll; and nephews, Jacob and wife Megan Carroll and Clinton and wife Amy Carroll.
