James (Mike) Michael Sanders was born July 26, 1968 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to James (Jim) William and Valeria Jean (Ogden) Sanders. He left this earth on the highway to heaven on November 19, 2021, at the age of 53 years old.
Mike grew up in Stilwell, Oklahoma until his mom remarried and finished out his high school years in Grand Prairie, Texas. Soon after he relocated back to Stilwell until 1999 when he moved to Westville, Oklahoma to complete his family.
On August 26, 1999, Mike married Susan Gail Hill of Westville and along with his daughter Ashley and her two girls Brianna and Taylor they became their own little Brady Bunch. To this union they added Brent and Tyler.
Mike was a proud 3rd generation truck driver, following in the footsteps of his Grandpa Sherman Sanders and his Dad Jim Sanders. He always said trucking was in his blood.
He was a loving husband and a very proud Dad and always made sure his family had what they needed, even if that meant having to stay out on the truck for longer periods. In recent years he became a Poppy. His grandkids were the light of his life, and he was very proud of them. He was so excited on his two upcoming grandkids being born.
Mike was preceded in death by his Dad Jim Sanders, Stepdad Dennis J. Bennett, Maternal Grandparents Leo and Jean Ogden, Paternal Grandparents Sherman and Betty Sanders, Uncle Jerry Ogden, In-laws Grady and Norma Hill and Brother-in-Law Mike Hill.
He leaves behind a family that will miss him dearly and that includes his wife, Susan of the home. Three daughters, Brianna Walker and husband Jeremy of Van Buren, Arkansas, Ashley Fain and husband Logan of Kansas, Oklahoma and Taylor Wilson of Westville; two sons, Brent Sanders and fiancé Hailey Cole of Westville and Tyler Sanders of the home. He has two grandsons; Easton Walker and soon to be Mason Walker; granddaughters, Maverick Fain and soon to be Bentlee Fain. His Mom, Valeria Bennett of Stilwell, 1 brother Mark Sanders, 1 niece Brittany Sanders, 2 nephews Bryce and Cooper Sanders of Stilwell. Brother in laws, Bruce Hill and wife Robin and Dan Hill and wife Faye of Westville: Sister in laws; Sheryl Hill of West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma and Donna Duckering of Galena, Missouri. Also, very special uncles and aunts, Butch and Susie Ogden, Jack Ogden, Rowena Ogden and Allene Sharp; and a very special family cousin, Alberta Walden. Close cousin who Mike loved dearly Jack Sanders and wife Cindy and a host of other cousins and numerous friends.
Funeral Service was held, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
